1. Who we are
MSG Connect provides a company workspace for managing customers, properties, systems, devices, documents, smart labels, staff access and service scheduling. For account, website and billing information, MSG Connect acts as the data controller. For operational records entered by a subscribed company, that company is normally the controller and MSG Connect acts as its processor.
2. Information we collect
- Registration and account details, including names, work contact details, trade, role and login information.
- Subscription, invoice and payment status. Card details are handled by the payment provider and are not stored directly by MSG Connect.
- Support messages, contact enquiries and correspondence.
- Security and activity information, including sign-ins, audit events, IP addresses and actions taken inside a workspace.
- Operational information uploaded by workspace users, which may include customer contacts, site information, photographs, documents and service records.
- Essential technical information needed to operate sessions, protect accounts and diagnose faults.
3. How and why we use information
We use information to provide and secure the service, create company workspaces, administer subscriptions, respond to enquiries, send operational messages, prevent misuse, maintain audit records, improve reliability and comply with legal obligations.
Depending on the context, our lawful bases include performance of a contract, legitimate interests in operating and securing the platform, compliance with legal obligations and consent where it is specifically requested.
5. Retention and deletion
Account and operational records are retained while a workspace is active and for a limited period afterwards where needed for recovery, disputes, security, tax or legal obligations. Workspace owners can request export or deletion, subject to lawful retention requirements. Backup copies expire according to the applicable backup-retention schedule.
6. Your data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability of your personal information, or withdraw consent. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
7. Security and workspace access
Company workspaces are logically separated. Access is authenticated, restricted by role and recorded through security and audit controls. Data is protected in transit and encrypted backup procedures are used for recoverability.
Important: MSG Connect personnel do not routinely view or edit a company’s operational records. Limited access may be technically possible where authorised and necessary for security, recovery, legal compliance or requested support, and should be controlled and logged.
8. Contact us
Use the MSG Connect contact form for privacy questions or rights requests. Please select “Existing customer” where applicable and identify the company workspace concerned.
